Yes, I like Deepak's advice. I have had to distance myself from a dear friend who was always trying to fix me. I certainly felt the same, since we were very different, but I held my peace until the end, as I eventually spoke up. I accepted the fact that we would never understand one another or be on the same page and my friend would not allow anything other than their own world into the relationship. I found myself trying to be who I was not just so I could entertain this one particular friend, which made me unhappy. We all have our own paths, as well as the God-given freedom to follow our own destiny. It can be hard for each of us to see thru the eyes of another. Sometimes, we just have to let it be and let go. However, I do appreciate the growth of learning this lesson with my former friend and I hope my friend gained something in return. I would like to think that we parted in love and peace.
