One of the great lessons taught to me from a rock is that I am not separate from the
earth and that my cosmic heritage and the heritage of the earth is directly linked.
How shall a rock attain her destiny without me and how can I attain mine without her?
Does a rock have consciousness? Yes,and its’ consciousness, in its’ less
developed state ( by human standards ) is at peace with the heritage it brings
forward for our beautiful planet earth. A rock, by its’ very definition, speaks of an
influence of solidity, a vibration firmly grounded into the earth. A rock understands
itself and asks us to do the same. Know yourself and that when you align yourself
with the cosmic influences of which you are a part, both yourself and the rock attain
heightened consciousness, for all beings await the moment of liberation that comes
when each of us understands ourselves as well as a rock does. In this way all
beings find their way home and love becomes a reality instead of a concept. A rock knows why it is here. It asks us to know the same.
The rock is in perfect alignment with cosmic and divine will. It is the pathway of all
lifeforms to be the same. That is what I learned from a rock.

I’ve also wondered this myself but if absolute consciousness is the ground of all being then who is in absolute consciousness. I think there could be something beyond even this state. Because by merely describing the states confines it, doesn’t it?

I’m just throwing that out there for observation and contemplation.

There is a global consciousness but then there is something that is much greater than this, which seems to be nothing but emptiness but through this emptiness the potential of all of creation exists. If only it could be explained. It is what is referred to as like a known unknown.

It is truly a brilliant mystery.

I think the crux of the matter is the question that at its most
fundamental level, is the ultimate reality (Brahman) complex
or simple?

If at a fundamental level, Brahman is complex then it is full of
timeless information and thus very probably “self-aware” and thus “Conscious”.

If on the other hand, Brahman is the utmost simplicity, then may be
“Consciousness” is not the correct word to use.

I am open to both possibilities, however I am hoping “Consciousness is
the ground of all being” as Amit Goswami would put it.

Well, there is a rock in my backyard that I developed a relationship with and
I asked it this very question! You’ll never guess what his the answer was….
Nothing!

People, wake up! Rocks don’t have consciousness, they are rocks
for cripes sake.

There is something there maintaining that bodies life, but you cannot recall that moment of that bodies birth. So whos the one dying, you or the body, and if you are not the body, then that absolute consciousness is always there no matter what. It is always absolute and constant, eternal and timeless. That thing in which you are (but are not the description) always and forever will fill this space with energy and life force.
