I find that I get different insights from different authors, and if after a while, what might have been confusing or even contradictory becomes clear.

Your question puts me in mind of a lovely passage I recently read which describes the various philophies as ferries or rafts which can take us further on our journey. You select the mode that best suits you to take you across the river. When you reach the other side, as all must do one day, you will no-longer have need of the ferry.
