it is about the notion of time under physical form....they are still around, as energy , consciousness; and probably much more aware now; just under a different form...as we all will at some point...As you can understand the relativity of time ( with space ), the time frame under physical form shouldn't matter much, as we all are passer by's.This society forces on us a structured time frame to make us mindless good robots to its system, hence the race to "live" as long / old as possible, which is pointless in the grand skim of things, just makes your life more insane to be so concerned by the time-schedule of things...

My mother passed last June 17th. I've worked with many people in grief. The human minds makes meanings out of everything, where animals make no means.

If we look at Candy Lightner: Founder of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), she made the happening of her son killed by a drunk driver to mean it should never happen again. Her son came to wake people up. That was his purpose. Now drunk driving is a tiny fraction of what it once was. SHE made the meaning!

The passing of your sister means whatever you make it mean. You can make it mean life is too random to be worth living. Or, you can make it mean life is so precious you build a foundation in her honor and raise consciousness so kids stop drinking. Whatever we make it mean, that is the truth for our mind.

If you were on a distant planet, where you lived 1000 years and saw this "happening", what would you make it mean? What would be the perspective from God? How would your sister want you to honor her life, by you suffering, or you living each day in joy?
----------
On an inner note, I find guilt the key to releasing the pain. We "should" on ourselves. But, no matter what YOU did, you probably couldn't change things. Forgive yourself! Change the future each day with your heart-centered actions.

I lost my little sister in 1977 to a tragic car accident in which her and 2 of her friends were killed. I never imagined that I would have any peace about it. But recently I have come to transcend the event and realize the experience and the eternal. It is in this place where my sister and your sister still exist, being part of consciousness that is not separated by time and space. When true consciousness appears in your life you have a completely different perspective on tragic events. As painful as it may seem they make perfect sense in the eternal perspective. Not that we wish for them, but as a piece completes a puzzle they can complete our experience and make it more precious, not more painful.
