You speak of trust, Trust in God. God is Love, Life and Truth.
God is the eternal principle of divine Love that lives in you as your very own consciousness. God is not a person per say.
The One Eternal God is also Supreme Intelligence and the only Intelligence there is. “God Made You” so surly you can put your complete trust in God.
When you trust in God, you trust also God’s Infinite Intelligence to bring you your rightful companion, which will first be recognized within your own being- Perhaps then will appear a man you can trust….
When you meet your true companion you will be fully satisfied and all longings and fears for someone outside of you will cease.

I have been let down in a few relationships – the last one very badly, which led to me being single mum to a beautiful daughter, now two.He has never contacted us. I feel that I want an intimate relationship but I can not trust men, I’m skeptical, frightened and feel I can see right through them. Do you recommend any books to help me become enlightened in this area? I would like to overcome this. I have no problem forming female friendships and I have lots of love for my family and those I hold close. I would appreciate your thoughts, thanks

Hi,

Whilst the advice given is good to a point I have to say this. Interfaith relationships are incredibly complex – your father’s objections aside you HAVE to have a very long and serious discussion with your partner before you speak to your respective families. Things you must discuss are:

How important is your faith to you?

How are you going to intergrate and cope with the different demands of two faiths (include diet in this as well)?

How are you going to raise your children?

How are you going to deal with family events and religious holidays?

Yes love, friendship, kindness and all that stuff will let you at least talk to each other without conflict (I hope) but there are just so many practical day to day things that need to be considered. After the two of you have resolved how you are going to deal with the issues of an interfaith relationship then you can go to your father and reassure him that this is how you plan to deal with it. I am sure his biggest fear is for you and his grandchildren – that you will be lost to the faith.

Well you need to consider what will ultimately make your dad happy. Wil it make him happy to see you in a relationship that may not end up happy? Or will he in many years see the wisdom in choosing love as the basis of your relationship. Discuss this with you dad as an adult because I have no doubt that your dad sees through the euphoria of young love and bases his decision on deeper understanding of you and his proposed partner. You need to make sure you are also basing your decision on a deep understanding of your self and your chosen partner. It’s not about which set of teachings you ascribe to but how well you see the truth in them because in all cases their truth points to the ultimate. Peace to you hearts, Miro
