Spiritual Melancholia

This disease is prevalent among those who are mentally and physically idle under the pretext of being too busy with spiritual things. These sufferers neglect the great and small duties of material life in the name of serving God, and thus invite the devil to work his mischief in them. They suffer from pessimism and lack of appreciation for all things good and beautiful in the material life. This is a contagious disease, and all spiritual aspirants must guard themselves against it by keeping their blood energy warm and immune with constant worthwhile activity. -Yogananda, Man's Eternal Quest

emotion is a thought tied to a sensation.

- feelings and emotions are different states of consciousness? Then also realizing that states of consciousness is not what we are...

Also thoughts are instrumental to the human experience, but Awareness itself is the source of thought and feelings. We can be aware of thoughts, emotions and feelings...but Awareness itself is not a thought, feeling or an emotion..

Awareness is Awareness

Awareness of Life, Truth and Love as it's eternal attributes in being...

I can understand what you are going through. For me, it is not validation that I'm interested in but rather a way to share my understandings. I have new deeper understandings that shake me, that are wonderfully powerful and yet I have few words to describe the profundity (is that a word?!) of my new knowledge.
I think that it is helpful to have an intellectual understanding of all this, but maybe it's not critical. Maybe it's most important to just be with it, to live it, to experience it, to just be...and maybe that's even the best way to communicate it all: by having others simply watch me as I go through my life with these new deep revelations? jt

I can understand your need for validation, because on the spiritual path, no one is a master and no one is a pupil. All of us are at various stages of learning and evolving. Hence, it becomes necessary often to share one's thoughts and experiences with others, even if they don't understand what one is saying. But that is the way it is. And as Deepak says, if the validation is out of genuine curiosity and desire to learn, its very good. If is it out of a sense of fulfillment and ego satisfaction, its only going to impede growth.
