I too have taken back my life by walking out of a well paid job. I am fearful but trust that when things are so unbearable in the workplace then you need to find where you truly belong. I trust my instincts and know that this is the right thing for me. I am fearful but I plan focus more on my stillness and be guided to what it is I am here to do.

One good choice sometimes cannot be made without living a few bad ones and sometimes choices cannot be label good or bad until after you have lived them. You won’t always make wise choices but you can gain wisdom from the choices you have lived through. So square up your shoulders, level your eyes on the road ahead and walk forward, fortified in the knowledge that God’s peace is always close, that regardless of the choices you have to make along the way, that you are strong, strong enough to handle the outcome.

What a big assumption. maybe it does it because that’s how it’s programmed from upbringing/past experience/ social conditioning etc.
Why not do the work – dig down & find out why you are having this aniety/stress/fear … what happened to lay this synaptic pathway in yr brain? find out. Get conscious then there is no need to blame the uncontrollable, controlling, unconscious.
It is a battle every human must take sooner or later … why wait till the suffering is unbearable …investigate now! You’ll be surprised at what happens. love

I think that deep down we all ‘know better’, but it takes a strong mind and a powerful intention to overcome established behavior – response patterns. I think if we make a new habit of honestly observing ourselves we can begin to see the negative patterns and so we can also begin pausing before acting or reacting in a way we might regret later. I say what’s done is done, water under the bridge, confetti on the stream. Life beyond regret begins NOW.

I to can relate to the dilemma. Our family recently made the decision to choose our spiritual walk over an income we so desperately need. The framework of peace that we live within would have been completely shredded by taking the opportunity that presented itself for an income. I am afraid and I wonder. But it seems forces beyond our control took control and the decision was made. I pray God will provide and that my family and I will find peace with this decision and not look back upon it as a mistake.

I understand the question poser’s dilemma. In my life, I am just beginning to learn and walk this path, and as I view what I have done in the previous years of my life, I feel many things, if I allow myself to, including anxiety. Regret. So I think what Mr. Chopra is saying is start here and now. Live this moment.

Through increasing my consciousness and attempting to develop a connection with the “non-local intelligence,” I am living now, for now, and my intentions are very different than in the past. The changes will come. And while I’m learning and growing, I am also focusing on others. One of the questions I ask myself each day is what do I really want to do in this world? As Mr. Chopra says in “The Spontaneous Fulfillment of Desire:” when trying to discover my highest sense of self, what do I want to do, for society, my country, my civilization.

I’ve also learned that removing the anxiety makes everything so much easier. Things I once would have stressed about, even daily tasks, are completed before I know it when I go through my day calmly. It’s a wonderful feeling.

I love Mr. Chopra’s answer above, concluding with “….a continuing dance of self-expression.” How cool is that! So my life now, and forward, will be a representation of me now, not me in the past. I love that!

i’m reading a lot about non-attachment. how to quiet the unconscious mind and have less suffering around times of stress. we just got our tax bill and even though i know in my heart we are okay, i created a lot of fear. at the most simple level, don’t make decisions from fear, feel your heart. easier said than done.
