It is a great stepping up for you to post your question for help! I least you are at the edge of taking control your own emotion. It dosen't matter what age we are at, life is always a work of art, a constant self discovery and improvement.

For me at age 40, I have just learned that there is actually no really good nor bad. The feelings are created by our own interpretation around everything. If in anything there is not real bad, then why there would be sad or suffer? If you know all this, we can switch our feeling quickly by focusing the positive side of everything. Then, you will wake up from the illusion of pain, struggle or sadness.

We need to learn to accept everything as the way it is. We have no control over anything, the only thing that we do have control is our own emotion.

So, next time when you face a difficult time, just ask yourself "Do I want to hand over my emotion to this feeling, or I like to take the responsibility of my own emotion. I like to choose to be happy, and not thing can take away me for being happy!"

Please enjoy your life, and love yourself.

Love,
Jennifer

I struggled with the relationship to my Mom all my life. After taking Landmark Education, and becoming a Meditation Instructor with regular practice, I forgave everything of my Mom. At her passing at age 85, we were very close and I helped her with the transition. My 6 other Siblings were incomplete with their conversations about and with her, and quite devastated at her death. My grown children are on a similar path. The past in the way of them seeing me as a Person, rather than Mom, it will take time and Love and Prayers. Blessings Mary

Thank you everyone for your comments. I have been struggling with my Mom ever since my Dad died 4 years ago. I have been working on setting boundaries in my family, even going as far as spending last Christmas alone. But Mom is stubborn, judgmental, and very critical towards her children. Her Catholic upbringing instilled us with shame, something that I feel very deeply when she lashes out. She is 81 now and I weep when I think of her all alone staring at the television. But she makes it so hard to be around her that I feel exhausted when I leave. Thanks again for all of the insights. It helps to know I am not alone on this journey. Namaste~Lynne

In order to love somebody else, first thing we need to do is to learn to love ourselves.

I love what Chopra say, all relationships are the mirrors to ourselves. When we wake up from reaction of mirroring each other in life, we become strong and independent. we have the peace and the calmness inside of us, no one can stir up our emotion easily.

Only then, you will even want to love your mother more because you will be able to see and understand her from her part of the story.

Love or hate is only a little twist of mind. Love is not how we feel, but what we need to do to build the happiness in life.

Love is the key to happiness.

My personal experience is that no amount of verbal teachings/counseling has significant impact as consciousness level of most of the persons is low and emotions are deep down. EFT techniques are very effective in handling these issues along side the spiritual suggestions provided by Deepak
