I believe they came and come to set an example and an ideal for the less advanced like me. That makes me think that the Bible kept that point authentic. In the Bible there is a nice addition to it: IF YOU CAN. Here Apam is right about the “flow”. Historically many people overlooked this short note and forced themselves into living against their own nature. There are many sad stories as a consequence.

As for sex and “gaining” higher spiritual ground through it – people can be amazingly creative to rationalize and justify their choices and actions. The topic of growth through sex always turns into a big temptation for that somehow…

The Bible says that the first choice should be celibacy, but if one cannot follow that path that person should choose one partner and go with that one partner for the rest of their life (“the little time they have on earth”).

I guess, Apam refers to that passage when saying “once done, cannot be undone”.

These days the word LOVE is used with so many different meanings, that it can cause a lot of confusion. One has to be very careful.

He did not go to a mountain top. He was surrounded by people. He connected with people in a very loving and caring way. He did it not because he was afraid to go another way. His love never knew any fear. It favored and benefited many many people (including children).

Love is equal to abundance and is not limited by time.

If we have a good astrologer, we can see the timetable for our partner’s arrival.

The pull of karma is so strong that we can even have an intuitive awareness when the time approaches and a feeling what he or she might be like. But to believe that our prayer and visualization attracts him or her is a superficial concept. It is more likely one starts to feel the need to pray because of the strong pull of the approaching karma.

What I view as a true achievement is how not to get on that scheduled train and instead dedicate our awareness exclusively to God. Early in his life Yogananda was told that according to his jyotish chart there would be three potential partners in his life and they are to appear at specific times. Exactly at those predestined times his family indeed tried to get him married, despite his obvious inclination for renunciation. He was saved from enloping only thanks to his great dedication to spiritual practices and to the presence of his guru.

My experience shows me that it is more likely to meet soul-mates outside of romantic relationships. I am pretty sure that we have a number of soul-mates, not just one.

When we get to know IT intimately and well – the longing for finding an outside soul-mate is gone. It is unfortunate that this longing for a soul-mate out there is made to look so glamorous by Hollywood. It has caused unnecessary additional suffering. The East has quite a realistic grounded view on this matter – relationships tend to be just paying old karma, working it out together and trying to build harmonious environment or/and accomplish a mission of higher order together.

Some people are so unaware of how their own soul looks or what the emotional makeup around it is like, that if you show them a mirror they start to bark ferociously at it, as if they see another dog there. Sorry for the illustration with the dog, I do not mean that people are dogs but I have seen dogs bark at their own image. I have tried to invite people to start a relationship with their own soul and to see the greatest soul-mate there but it does not seem to make sense to some. I will understand if what I say here does not make sense again.
