a very good friend of 20 years recently told me that we are no longer friends! (no, we're not l4 as you would assume from her words)I can not just leave a friendship that had been so meaningful for so long. I emailed her telling her I'd always be open to talking with her and sent her my love. Many months later I dropped a brief note telling her the same yet again. She might not ever respond but I have to be true to myself and to our friendship anyway. I don't feel pain when I contact her, I don't have a Need for her to contact me. I'm just reminding her of our friendship and then I move on.
the more time goes by the sadder I feel for her though. What pain she must be feeling and creating to stay away from a relationship that was so important. jt
