This is a wonderful experience although it is painful. Realizing that you are helpless and sinful and in need of the loving, merciful savior. I think Dr. Chopra is right in one way. This person IS trying too hard b/c he/she need not TRY AT ALL! It is futile to try to live completely righteously and holy without the Holy Spirit of God, the Counselor & Comforter who can teach you all things if He lives in you. I believe this person is experiencing something wonderful. Why? Because he/she is experiencing that they are not capable of living righteously because we are all born into sin and are in need of the one true God, Jehovah, to forgive us by the blood of Jesus Christ and free us from the wages of sin, which is death. You should read Romans 7:14-24. 21- 24 may resonate with you- So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!
ONLY the Lord, through faith in Jesus Christ and the grace He gives to all who believe, can you be made right with God and have peace that surpasses all understanding. If you fail "tests" and sin, He is merciful to forgive us of our transgressions and cleanse us. But you must confess seek the Lord, the only true God and when you find Him, lay down your own ideas of life and your own "goodness", so that He CAN save you. But if you keep believing that by your own "goodness" and efforts you can please God, you are not welcoming Him into your life and He wants your love out of your own free will, not by pushing it on you. Repent of your sin (turn away from the world for answers and satisfaction and turn to the Lord God). Dr. Chopra- you are a false teacher. "Confessing to be wise, they became fools." romans 1:22. You confess to be wise, but you are a fool. What is a fool? A person who does not kneel beneath the wisdom and holiness of the one true God in reverent fear.
I welcome all emails and responses in this forum.

About fifteen years ago while visiting on the Big Island of Hawaii, I felt this incredible oneness with the universe. I was at the end of a yoga practice and was about to open my eyes when for what seemed like a moment, I was in the universe, sort of like I was woven into the tapestry of it. I felt like I was everything and knew everything.

I think this is what you mean when you say we all possess deep within us and are capable of feeling all the time.

I have not had that experience since but think I will with some work. DO you have any advice? I am reading a couple of your books at the moment and they are great guides in this journey.

Aloha from Hawaii.

i loved deepak's answer... enlightenment is not something that occurs in time but in the now... realization is found in the present moment... nowhere else... your bliss is hidden in every precious moment regardless of the external appearance... acceptance of your situation and its perfection will lead you to your higher goals and purpose... as deepak well teaches throw your intentions to the universe and let go... if they are meant to be fulfilled they will be... if not something else will... if you resist the flow the outcome will be the same... but with suffering... trusting is key... with love
