What a lovely post. I did a lot of research about life after death or rather life after life for my book: The Opening. Deepak's book: Life After Death was a great resource.

My cousin had a near death experience. His recounting of that event is profound and quite beautiful. This post reminds me of his story of seeing departed loved ones and his mother telling him to "go back."

Thanks Deepak.

I like the opening sentence, Mieke. It's an honest statement, one deserving of attention, and I find myself expressing something quite similar, too, with friends and colleagues. We are all enlightened. But waking up to it....OY!! Waking up is a continuing process. No one wakes up once and for all. There is no limit to wakefulness, just as there is no limit to aliveness.

Thanks for a fun experience your own self, Mieke. My process is just about up here, too.

Have fun!!

I am my own Universe, I create my own ups and downs and all illusions that come with it :)

I know who I am kshatriya
Sometimes letting myself drift away with it...
Thanks for a great experience on this website.
Am moving now... to the next one, going back to my roots, creating games, in 3D Virtual Reality.

It IS (reference to the "official website) whether you 'think' it is or not.
I am a member of IntentBlog also. Whatever.

How do you feel you have peace with that? You said yourself, "No one wants to believe me." How in the hell is that about peace?

You know what? I think there comes a point in the journey where even experience, as we've always related to it, goes by the wayside, too.

Of course we create our own reality. But most of us do it in thought (consciuosly AND unconsciously), and, obviously no man (or woman) is clever enough to know all the evil they do in thought. Thought is a stepchild. It pales in comparison to second attention. But, Deepak also says it's beyond thought. So does Nisargadatta: "Nothing of value can happen to a mind which knows exactly what it wants. For nothing the mind can visualize and want is of much value."

I don't happen to see an asterisk there with regard to women.

:)

I happened to be a member of IntentBlog.com and it was there that Mr. Deepak Chopra himself asked people about their experiences.
I found many likeminded souls on that website with whom I still am friends.
I also have many supporters on Intent.com
I supposed it would be the same on Deepak's official website.
But it is not, so I found out.
So I have peace with that and am already on my way to another exciting experience.
Cause according to Deepak we create our own reality, is it not?
:)

You're still assuming plenty about the screen name.

Think about this for a minute. What business is it of yours what other people think about your experience in 1979?

Aloha, again. :)

Luckily I have found my soul butterfly in India to share our mutual creative inspiration.
I do many inspired projects with like-minded souls.
I believe the female has the inner knowing by itself and does not need enlightenment like a Krishna warrior.

So hello and good bye to you in your own paradox :)

Well, first off, the book remark was directed at another post on the thread. Transformation is grace's business. You're a Bhagavad Gita fan, right?

Chapter 7, Verse 3 from the Bhagavad Gita. In this verse, Lord Krishna says to Arjuna,

"It is perhaps only one in thousands of beings who strives for freedom. And among those who strive--and think they have succeeded--hardly one knows the total Truth of My Being."

Because enlightenment cannot be measured objectively, it would be impossible to determine how many enlightened beings there are in the world, but this passage may be a guide. The verse says that only one in thousands is even a seeker. For example, of the current population in the U.S. of 300,000,000, there may be a few hundred thousand seekers. Of these seekers-- who in addition think they are enlightened--hardly one knows Reality. This is a very vague statement, but perhaps it means another factor of 1000 down. If so, it would mean there are fewer than a thousand truly enlightened beings in the U.S. From my own observations and experience, I would be surprised if the actual number exceeded that.

If you are, I have to say- That's wonderful.

And I agree that we ALL live in a different reality, until Reality is all there is to Be. It's a journey until then, and if you're leaving here to continue on with your journey, well, bye bye, and, I have had it here implies an ending. Which is a time bound reference. A double-negative, so to speak.

I'll just say- Aloha. It means- Hello, and Good Bye. I love a good paradox.

I can assure you Kshatriya that my experience in 1979 has been genuine.
I do not need to read books about it, perhaps only to find back what I experienced myself.
But this has been my karma all my life.
No one wants to believe me.
So my creativity shows to me that I truly have my own life to be and I do not mind if no one believes me because every one lives in a different reality.

I have had it here.

Bye Bye

Yeah, I once saw something like that in a Jodie Foster movie. Wouldn't it be great if life was like that? Even the birth of a star, or a planet could hardly be called passive. It's vigorous, a titanic clashing of energies. More like a verb.

What was shared was never a knowing. It unfolds of Its own accord. This isn't the territory of the mind, and rote learning from books. I guess you'll have to go there one day and find out for yourself. And that's as it should be.

The means to ‘perceive or understand death as a transformation’ can be tricky, G. Have you ever been present when a ‘transformation’ is taking place? I mean a really up close and personal transformation? If pure being cannot die, and it is the basis, or ground state of every aspect of life, what is being transformed?

Palliative care is the next big business in order for the baby boom to get comfortable with death.

Truly G, there are not so many people so convinced as you are..

My friend teached me I am my own source and destiny and that is enough for me to create whatever will be the most comfortable for myself and my family

Your friend suffering, the cancer, the doctors with a fatal prognosis, the funeral…and I am sure deep within yourself you did not believe any of this right Mieke?

What dies but an erroneous dream thought. Knowing this Truth is a good death. Knowing that life is eternal, Pure Being cannot die, be depressed or sick, makes for good death or better stated makes clear the meaning of transformation. A good death makes eternal living evident.
To Perceive and understand death as a transformation is Good…

No one is able to interprete another one's death.

However each of us is capable of visualizing and writing down the way one wants to be treated at that moment.

I had a friend who suffered from severe depressions all her life.
The moment her doctors told her that she had cancer and only a few months to live, she started orchestrating her death experience and her funeral.
She completely received what she wanted.
I have truly learnt from her experience

Thanks for these encouraging words. I would like our culture to see death as a natural event, not a tragedy, and nothing to be feared. One thing I wonder about is that I have heard that part of the death experience (maybe after the pleasant experience we often hear about?) is like the "sting of a thousand scorpions." Your comments about this would also be of interest. Thanks!
