If they don’t do it now it will be too late, if it isn’t already so. Peak oil looms large on the near horizon, and if they wait to make the changes because of it their economies will not have a foundation to anchor their societies. Anarchy will be the result.

If the goal is autonomy, and a new direction, then it’s time for the people to make the necessary changes in the region to ensure their success. Let’s wish them well in their courageous endeavor.
