Through the Internet the people have so much more contribution possibilities to our society, to our government, in fact, in a democratic country, NOW the time has come for any
one to let his/her voice hear.

people who vote need to use their common sense….I dont vote the party, but the man who will stand up for me and the ilks when it comes down to the nitty gritty..you want a decent , honest person , then study the background of the man and vote accordinally….we have too much trash in the senate right now and congress…….and all want to cut at the wrong place…..the poor get poorer and the rich get richer as usual.

Why wasn’t Sen. McCain’s name mentioned along with the others dignataries at the memorial service by the Arizona Governor? I think we know the answer. Sad. Same old, same old.

I agree with Ker with regard to both ends of the spectrum… and media responsibility. Example above: equating the Tea Party (movement) with “extremists, crazies, rabble-rousers” and that incumbants are trembling. Oh please! The media creates sound bites and then runs with them for days and brings them up as “fact” thereafter. Hey, the purple people read and know the constitution (of,by and for…). I looked for a comment on the liberal left after the comment about the right. Did I really think I would find anything in the SF Chronicle? Hope springs eternal. Limo liberals telling middle America how to live and breath. Oh, my!

Both ends of the spectrum are full of demagoguery..If it is not shouted in hyperbole it is ignored. If ignored does not provide revenue. We are purple… the media is responsible for stoking the fires of right and left.

I hope that you are accurate in your assessment. I believe that in the USA, there is much fear of systemic change (no matter how much the latter is needed to support justice and ecological sanity), but we’re all human beings with a Divine core, so perhaps we’ll fare well in the long run as we let go of the concept that the world revolves around the USA and thus be free to join the rest of humanity.
