It was gratifying to see a theoretical physicist offer to teach Dr. Chopra something about QM. As was apparent from the debate, Dr. Chopra has a very limited understanding of QM, and his knowledge is misapplied in an attempt to provide scientific underpinnings to his pantheism.
As for "science will not admit what it doesn't know", there is some thruth to that.
Drs Shermer and Harris attempted to explain what science did know, and left the impression that was all there is to know.
I wold have been happier if they said there is much that science does not know, but that imperfect knowledge does not mean that Dr. Chopra's QM mishmash is correct

Fantastic debate. I was there. Unfortunately, the main question didn't seem to be addressed much on either side.

The scary conclusion I would get from Michael Shermer's mention of oxytocin (in this article also) is that we just produce more drugs for all human emotions. Science is the only reality. Everything is simply a chemical reaction. So, just make more pills. The lack of human touch, meaning, purpose, are all irrelevant under his microscope.

Where is the soul in the scientific community? I was once an engineer, all living in my mind. There was no real love, just chemical reactions to biological needs. It took a breakdown to discover there is more than just money, science, and things. Will our entire world need a breakdown to see that science is only a stage of evolution?

It seems the great challenge is that science will NOT admit what it doesn't know. Doctors say, you'll die in X months, rather than, "My knowledge is limited here. I only know what's in my books. Maybe there are other answers I am not aware of?"

It took how long to figure out the earth was round & and not the center of the universe? Only in the last decade did we figure out black holes are what's at the center of every galaxy. How long will it take them to create some device to measure love or God? Exactly! So if they can't measure, it doesn't exist. We are back to those in power saying they are the keepers of all that is true.

Thanks for fighting the good fight Deepak! I do with there could have been more separation along Sam's line of the man-in-the-sky God and what Deepak means by a universal evolutionary force everywhere in the galaxy.
