you cannot summarize 60 years in a book.. Niether can you depict the cultural , tribal behavior, perceptions in a book. I see people regularly talk about Mohammads (PBUH) wifes…to what I understand Mohammad(PBUH)and his teachings during 14th century is an outstanding spiritual, literal, social achievement. We are talking about the 14th century when barbaric tribes spent their days in wars with each other, if a girl was born parents grieved ..womens only function was a slaves with no say in society of men at all. Mohammad’s wives where not the most beautiful or the youngest. Mohammad’s first wife was 20 years older than him and he spent a good twenty years till her death with her. He was a a respectable and knowledgeable man among his brethren. Several marriages was with widows who have lost their husbands in war and thus neglected by the then society … several marriages occurred to bring piece among conflicting tribes.

My reply to Adiana, by just looking at the number of wives, and making conclusion is not good approach. One must have to know whole scenario at that time, for which you need to study in depth (not in length). Great Masters actions cannot be understood with a little insight, for that one must go deep to study, think and contemplate to get the correct message.

In my view the depiction of historical events that took place 1400 years ago is an impossible task. that’s why we always find contradiction when it comes to describe non-documented history. However, some of main traits of character have reached us. If Jesus stands for “Sacrifice” Muhammad also stands for “Kindness”.

I can not represent all the Muslims but My understanding of Islam. You have the rite to say whatever you feel to say but lets see what Muhammad gave to Muslims, the Quran and its mentioned,
[2:63] Surely, the Believers, and the Jews, and the Christians and the Sabians — whichever party from among these truly believes in Allah and the Last Day and does good deeds — shall have their reward with their Lord, and no fear shall come upon them, nor shall they grieve.
and 2ndly Quran talks about Non-Believers,
[109:7] ‘For you your religion, and for me my religion.’
Have your comments but let everyone live in Peace. I have no idea which religion you belong to, but can you show these kinds of verses from any other religious scripture?

I just think is weird someone that has 11 wives plus slaves find time and inspiration to dedicate his soul to God. Nothing against sex. Its about energy and time management. I think he had special powers!! 11 official wives .. plus 15 female slaves? I am curious about this book! Muhammad definetly had some type of special powers 🙂

Dr. Chopra’s books on Jesus, The Buddha, and now Muhammad are works of love. They inspired me to read the Tao Te Ching. Now I am studying, not just reading. It feels as though the great weight of bigotry has been lifted from me and the lightness of the peace, harmony, laughter and love that Dr. Chopra writes about are once again in” my heart and soul. These books along with all of Dr. Chopra’s books should be read and some studied, along with Eckhart Tolle’s, The Power of Now and The New Earth…

First of all, anybody’s expression, verbal or written, is always at some variance with his perception, which is at variance from actuality.

Second, No historical writing can ever hope to be either total or totally factual.

So Expression vs Perception vs Fact is always a perennial problem.

And then, Criticizing a tolerant person, black and blue, is easy. You can succeed there better.

Now, you are not in such safe territory.

Exploring truth is always subject to such constraints.

i came a fan of u since i started my teenager peroid with alot of questions and search and i loved ur book “creating afflunce” although only i didnt like the word “creating” at that time
after being taken by the life all those years..i saw u on youtube talking about the love of my life “Muhammad peace be upon him” in “what is unique about Muhammad”
wow..u descripe the beauty of the Quran words even better than how i can, while i thought i am a kind of strong muslim believer..u made me see the Prophet even clearer..
but unfourtenatly i went to our biggest book store in KSA but they said ur book didnt arrive yet!!!
inshaAllah i will get it..
but i also have a question and need ur kind answer plz
u said in the interview “Muhammad makes u feel whole because he is connected to wholiness” so why u dont connect to him?what holds u?

He never sexually defiled a girl but married her. He only has a daughter from his first wife (who is 20 years older than him and died within poverty). You might need to have an understanding of the gender issues in that society.

The others might be partly correct but it doesn’t disturb me about his prophecy.

I am applauding Chopra’s work and his thoughts.

I would like you to focus on exactly who Mohammed was, what he did, how he achieved his goals, and how he died.
Answer me all these things and you will know what Mohammed represents.
Can you deny that he sexually defiled a nine year old girl (Aisha – whom he made his wife), owned slaves throughout his lifetime, fought in many armed battles, and died by poisoning?
These are facts that I’ve asked other Muslims and they cannot deny any of those points.
So, would it be remiss if these points weren’t clearly stated as facts throughout your book?
I would think so.
I do intend on reading in detail about all these things within your book.
