This is the problem, Christianity is not about religion it's about relationship, a relationship with the Living God. To see the human face of God is to look into the face of Christ. In the Book of Hebrews it states: The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of His being..." (Hebrews 1:3). True Christians serve a personal God, in other words, we are in a direct relationship with God the Father through the Son, that's why the Son came, to give us direct access to God the Father through the Holy Spirit. God through the Holy Spirit speaks to us, He leads us, He teaches us, He warns us, He gives us revelation and illumination, you learn to hear His voice and distinguish His voice from other voices or even your own. He also will show you people and what they are about. Most of all, He gives you a special kind of love refered to as "Agape love." To be a part of God's Kingdom household there are rules that apply and God is not the author of confusion. There is a way you must enter into that Kingdom household. God desires a personal relationship with His creation. This has always been His desire that we come to know Him in a personal way. To have this personal relationship with God is through Jesus Christ by receiving His Holy Spirit, this is what is meant by being born-again, it's being born through joining your spirit with the Holy Spirit by asking Him to come into your life, your heart. It's as simple as that, then asking God to reveal Himself to you personally. You also get this through His word, the Bible. In Christianity we are to put Christ first, above anyone or anything else, you must love Him more. In Matthew 10:-38 Jesus says: "Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it." This is why Christians are to be a witness for Christ and share Him with others, so they too can have that same personal experience that millions of Christians have been blessed to have.

I think our world has become so obsessed with immediate gratification, that people rush into marriage before they really have talked about anything important. We have become so conflict adverse that we avoid difficult conversations before we are married then cop out and run when we hit the first sign of conflict when these festering issues arise.

Thank you Deepak Interesting article.

We just celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary! We are an interfaith couple, & have raised an interfaith family. We have both come from families where our own parents chose divorce in their same faith marriages.
We all continue to learn from one another as unconditional love, takes hard work, in not repeating negative patterns, which is more than sheer luck.

The problem with many religions is that they keep people in line via fear (I was raised Catholic). The answer is to let go of the fear & allow the differences to be discussed & respected. As you mention Deepak neither has to be right or wrong but respect is very important.

Hugs,
