I am a believer. I am living proof that meditation heals the mind and body. The MS (multiple sclerosis) I was diagnosed with 13 years ago does not have a hold on me. I chose meditation over medication many years ago and a recent visit to my neurologist confirms that the choice I made for myself (which is not necessarily the right choice for all) was the most powerful. I will cherish the words my neurologist spoke just two weeks ago (btw, he has also recently been diagnosed with MS as well!), "Cassie, whatever you're doing, keep doing it. You are beating the odds and keeping your nervous system happy." My message to anyone with or without dis-ease is, meditate...keep meditating and believe that this ancient tool is the key.

You can help meditation work, the first thing to start with is that you have to want to make changes to improve your life/mind, you are then at the right starting gate, keep your positive reason for changing your life/mind with you all the time.

Genes and the biological body are an expression of the mind. If the mind changes, so does the genes.

That´s obvious to anyone who has ever cured himself through the power of the mind. But I am glad biology is heading towards that direction.

It is still, to this day, to feel as though the meditation has lasted for 10-15 minutes- only to learn 45 minutes has passed "in a jiffy." And, as mieke pointed out, it is only afterward that one becomes aware of it.

I can also speak from experience.
But most of the time is is only 'afterwards' one does become aware of it.

It is very difficult to always stay aware and even most of the scientists of today know that it is still our brain itself that takes the decision before we even become aware of this.

In the Gita is is clearly stated that We are not the doers.
Nature is, and this is still the case in my humble opinion.

Surrendering to Nature gives one the synchronistic opportunities in every part of ones life

I believe this because I have lived this. Whatever I have manifested through ideas of my conscious has later manifested itself in reality. The most interesting facet of this process for me has been how long it takes for the idea of consciousness to become real. I have found that it can take years for ideas to manifest themselves. So have patience.
