Let's see: 39% disagree that the imam has a right to build his center, or have no opinion. And that's the same percentage the right manages to attract at this moment. So what should we conclude from this? Why, it must only be those wascally Wepublicans who oppose the mosque, unlike the other 61% of "nice" people!

Nice try, Deepak, finding two occurrences of the same number and writing about them in such a way that readers will tend to conclude it must be the same folks in both cases. But I'm calling you on it, because I doubt you can show that it's true. If you have evidence to that effect, I loudly and proudly challenge you to furnish it. Otherwise, what you wrote sure smacks of being "an obvious ploy" to once again criticize the right wing, as is your wont. (This I'm-a-spiritual-master-so-I'm-uniquely-qualified-to-deliver-THE-TRUTH-about-Republicans shtick is really wearing rather thin.)

Also, the real facts are that something like 70% of Americans OPPOSE the mosque plan, even as a majority also agree that the imam has the right to build it. (In other words, they agree he can but think he shouldn't.) See this AP item about NY voters: http://tinyurl.com/2cym5ee. And btw, there are even Muslims opposed to the mosque. See one other AP item: http://tinyurl.com/26degtm.

So what do you say, Deepak? Isn't it about time to quit the Republican bashing?

Every religion has a right to worship in America that is why America has had so much success in the past and I hope to continue on this path. All religions have a heart of gold and a common thread and that is to be a good person in the eyes of whichever God you worship....and that is why America has been a successful nation. Although painful perhaps the location of where they want to put the mosque in downtown Manhattan....many people died in 9/11/2001, it was not an attack on America, nor an attack on any religion.....but an attack on humanity....for that is what terrorism is. An attack on the human spirit, a test perhaps of faith, kindeness and belief....humanity unites us regardless of the circumstances. And acceptance bring peace.

Very true that the all muslims should not be put in the same box with their counterparts on the opposite side.

But the problem is that till one doesn't act (in good or bad way), people do not know on which side the person is. And that uncertainty gives rise to the need for some generalization.

What to do then? :(
