In reply to <a href="https://choprafoundation.org/ask-deepak/developing-witnessing-awareness/#comment-5339">Thaddeus A. Golas</a>.

I couldn't help but notice that one of the comments here is from a "Thaddeus Golas". Interestingly, I read the book, "The Lazy Man's Guide To Enlightenment" many years ago, gave the book away, and only recently replaced it. I was reminded that prior to finding the book, I saw a commercial on TV, it was an aspirin commercial, and the voice over started out with, "Thaddeus Golas has a headache." It was some years later I found the book and purchased it because I recognized the name from the commercial. How many "Thaddeus Golas's" can there be? Subsequently, I learned of at least two, Thaddeus S. Golas, who wrote the wonderful book, and Thaddeus A. Golas, an actor. Any chance the poster to this thread is the latter? If so, you are partially responsible, sir, for me beginning my own journey into awareness by doing an aspirin commercial! Amazing.

Be Aware! For many of you this could be a mid-life crisis where you give up everything - wife, children, relatives, friends, careers - to find your"spiritual journey". Afterwards you find out that you have lost everything because you took the wrong journey.

I feel that Meditation is like a free-falling exercise.
Once you have taken the jump just be in it. Enjoy, don't think or analyze it. Just see what comes, each time. As your Meditations change,(and they will) notice what is parallel in your physical experience.

Your doing great! These questions initself shows much growth. Until unity arrives ( and none of us are there yet)in the field of duellality there will always be opposites. Happy/sad ,love/fear , satisfaction/disatisfactio ect. But as we grow we learn to accept apparent duelality with paradoxical unity. So I think it's unrealistic to think you will ALWAYS be happy or never have negative thoughts, they just seem to slowly and I mean SLOWLY become less prevelent for your true self IS unbounded love, joy, bliss
keep up the good work!

hi...well...what u are witnessing is nothing but a spiritual elevation. I too feel the same at times, when though I am mindfull, but the joy is lacking...I mean why cant I be HAPPY...IF I AM AWARE.? well...the answer is that..being aware is also an awareness..!!! Being aware that one is thoughtfree is ALSO A THOUGHT IN THE FIRST PLACE..! so...dont think so much..just occupy your mind in some productive activity..and train it. Whenever any thought comes to your mind..just Shooo it away...! it actually works. STAY HAPPY..EVEN WHILE U ARE MEDITATING. PUT ON A SMILE AS U SIT IN SILENCE....:)

Is there a difference between disidentification and disassociation? And does old conditioning dissolve at its own sweet pace through witnessing awareness? Many Buddhist teachers talk extensively about disidentification as a way of "stepping back" from the conditioned mind. What are they talking about? It seems the more aware of ego patterns I become the noisier they become. What's going on? How can I make some progress? Kindly, Thaddeus Golas
