Cycle of Failure

I have become very interested recently in reading about – and applying – the Law of Attraction, and related transformational tools suggested by various inspirational authors. Yet, it seems to me that the Law of Karma plays a more dominant role in where we come out in life. Over the past several years, I have put in an enormous amount of effort – both material and spiritual – to simply put in place even the foundational personal and professional pillars of life. But my life experience has been that despite everything I do, and all the efforts, I always end up in the same space of failure, and following from it, deep, deep anguish. Success – in any sphere – simply does not flow. The only explanation that makes sense is that perhaps I am karmically destined to constantly struggle and suffer, and never quite achieve. How do I reconcile this? How do I break this cycle?
