General Wesley Clark to Join Top Scientists and Leaders at Chopra Foundation Symposium in Carlsbad March 3-5, 2012

Carlsbad, CA (PRWEB) February 14, 2012

The Chopra Foundation is pleased to announce the addition of retired General Wesley Clark to its lineup of distinguished scientists, leaders, and humanitarians that will gather next month to address the most important scientific, social, and spiritual questions of our time at Sages and Scientists in Carlsbad.

Few people have had as profound a positive influence on the world as General Wesley K. Clark. The Chopra Foundation is proud to announce the addition of General Clark to its roster of top scientific and spiritual leaders that will assemble in Carlsbad next month at its Sages and Scientists Symposium.

“General Clark has not only earned his place in history as one of the true heroes of the 20th Century, he is determined to make a difference in this century—particularly as it relates to his work with renewable energy,” said Deepak Chopra, founder of the Chopra Foundation.

General Clark retired a four star general after 38 years in the United States Army. A hero in every sense of the word, in his last assignment as Supreme Allied Commander Europe he led NATO forces to victory in Operation Allied Force, saving 1.5 million Albanians from ethnic cleansing.

His awards include the Presidential Medal of Freedom, Defense Distinguished Service Medal (five awards), silver star, bronze star, purple heart, honorary knighthoods from the British and Dutch governments, and numerous other awards from other governments, including award of Commander of the Legion of Honor (France).

Today his main focus is on the planet’s growing energy crisis. General Clark serves on the advisory boards of the Clinton Global Initiative’s Working Group on Energy and Climate Change and the American Council On Renewable Energy (ACORE). Clark is expected to impart his wisdom in this area at the Sages and Scientists Symposium.

The Chopra Foundation is inviting the public and the press to come together for three days of conversation on science and consciousness. Sages and Scientists will explore responsible leadership, environmental sustainability, peace and justiceworld transformation, and social and economic challenges, and will end with a summarization and creative solutions.

Presented by the Chopra Foundation, this Third Annual International Sages and Scientists Symposium, being held from March 3 to 5, 2012 at La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California, will address some of the most urgent questions facing our future evolution, including:

  • Are we in the midst of a major paradigm shift in science?
  • Is there an ultimate reality?
  • Does consciousness conceive, govern, construct and become the physical universe?
  • Is the universe becoming self aware in the human nervous system?
  • Is the next stage of human development conscious evolution?
  • Do we have the ability to influence the future evolution of the cosmos?
  • How does our understanding of consciousness as pure potentiality enhance our capacity for intuition, creativity, conscious choice making, healing, and the awakening of dormant potentials such as non-local communication and non-local sensory experience?
  • How does our understanding of consciousness also enhance our capacity for total well being—physical, emotional, spiritual, social, community, financial and ecological?

“If you find the above questions intriguing, you are most welcome to join me and my colleagues as we go deep into dialogue about our emerging future,” said Chopra, founder of the Chopra Foundation. “Everything will be examined from the perspectives of both sages and scientists with the goal of finding common ground.

“At the end of the symposium, we will summarize the current understanding of the issues that deeply affect all of us at the core of our being. We aim to propel scientific investigation and research in the areas of consciousness.”

The Chopra Foundation is requesting a donation of $1,995—$1,000 of which is tax deductible—for general participation, after which registration will be complimentary. Contributions to the Symposium will be used to support collaborative research on the realization of consciousness, carry on the Foundation’s other charitable work, and pay expenses for the program.
